Caltrans started construction this week along Highway 1 in unincorporated Mill Valley. The project includes the installation of a rectangular rapid flashing beacon at State Route 1 and the Tennessee Avenue intersection in Mill Valley. This week, the contractor performed daywork for a PG&E service drop that will service the flashing beacons.
Next week, the Highway 1 shoulder closure will be from Monday (August 22) through Friday (August 26) from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. from Laurel Way to Ross Drive. The work will involve excavation, underground utility work and pole foundation.
Some minor traffic delays are expected due to the nature of the construction and the closure of the shoulder. Drivers are encouraged to slow down in the construction zone.
