EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMISSION VACANCY
Emergency Preparedness Commission Unscheduled Vacancy Notice (PDF)
The Mill Valley City Council is seeking to fill an unscheduled vacancy on the Emergency Preparedness Commission (EPC). The vacant term will run from the date of appointment to February 28, 2025. After filling the vacancy, the applicant will be able to reapply for a second three-year term.
About the Emergency Preparedness Commission:
The Emergency Preparedness Commission (LINK) assists the City in preparing for, responding to, recovering from, and mitigating a disaster. The Commission’s duties include but are not limited to: identifying and organizing community groups, including residential neighborhood associations, schools, and businesses, promoting community emergency response training, creating and maintaining a doctors’ and nurses’ registry, educating residents on ways to be self-sufficient in a disaster; and providing recommendations to the City Council on preparedness matters. Staff support of the Emergency Preparedness Commission is provided by the Fire Department and the City’s Fire Chief. Commission meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Upstairs Conference Room at City Hall, 26 Corte Madera Avenue, Mill Valley, CA. The Emergency Preparedness Commission is an advisory Commission to the City Council and City staff with no decision or policymaking authority.
