Mycological Society: Mushrooms in Japanese Cuisine with Kiki LeSeed

Wednesday, November 20th | 6:30pm (note: early start time)

Get ready to engage all your senses! Join Kiki LeSeed in an exploration of cooking mushrooms in Japanese cuisine. Kiki will discuss different types of mushrooms and some key ingredients to stock a Japanese pantry. During her cooking demo, she will talk about Japanese culture and cooking techniques. Delicious bites will be included.

Hear about local producers cultivating the bounty of our bio-region. Taste some common and not-so-common varieties of mushrooms and walk away inspired to prepare some dishes at home.

***In an effort to reduce waste, please bring your own small tasting bowl and utensils***

Kiki LeSeed is a second-generation Japanese-American reclaiming her heritage through food and cooking. She credits her love for Garden-to-Table home-cooking to her mother, and is grateful for the abundance of local ingredients to play with. Find her on Instagram at @wabi.sabi.wonderful.
