How do artists and authors join forces to create a compelling statement? Throughout their decade-long collaboration, poet Rebecca Foust and artist Lorna Stevens have explored ways to effectively connect poetry and painting. Join them for a presentation of their collaborations, together with notable unions of text and art throughout history ranging from medieval illuminated manuscripts to broadsides to modern video games. Topics such as the creative collaborative process and how to find publishing outlets for hybrid work will be covered.
Rebecca Foust, former Marin County Poet Laureate and Poetry Editor for Women’s Voices for Change, has published six books of poetry, including a collaboration with Lorna Stevens, God, Seed: Poetry & Art about the Natural World (Tebot Bach 2010) and a book of sonnets, Paradise Drive (Press 53 2015).
