8 Books Remix

Time to mix it up! We're excited to announce the release of the first episode of the 8 Books Remix podcast. In this variation on the Eight Books That Made Me format, YA authors tell librarian Natalie McCall about five books that made them who they are and pitch three books they think you should read.

In this episode, Stacey Lee chats with our host about the Disneyfication of fairy tales, whether awards make you want to read a book or avoid it, and how diverse characters can make stories more fun. Lee is an award-winning author of historical and contemporary young adult fiction and one of the founders of We Need Diverse Books, a non-profit that promotes diversity in children’s literature and publishing. Her fourth novel, The Downstairs Girl, comes out in August.
