Marin Museum of Contemporary Art's Heidi LaGrasta on "10 Questions You Have About Contemporary Art but Were Afraid to Ask"
June 30th, 7:00pm

For many people, the contemporary art world can seem foreign and impenetrable. This talk is designed to help explain how art history has led to the current art world and to answer many of the questions we hear whispered at art museums (e.g., What is the difference between modern and contemporary art? How can I tell if this is artwork is "good" or not? How is this art if its not even nice to look at?). Heidi LaGrasta, Executive Director of the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato will lead this frank and straightforward discussion, and guests will come away with a better idea of what contemporary art is about and how to appreciate artworks you are likely to encounter in contemporary galleries and museums.
