A $1 million fire destroyed three buildings in Mill Valley on June 18, 1984 - Dowd's Moving & Storage, Curtis Gallery, and La Veranda Restaurant - in the 100 block of Throckmorton Avenue. Forty firefighters battled the 2:50AM fire for two hours before it was under control.
