Mill Valley’s Annual Evacuation Drill will held on Saturday, May 4, 2013.
From 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M.
Residents in pre-identified areas along the Molino-Edgewood corridor up to Panoramic Highway ending
near Mountain Home Inn received an information letter the week of April 8th. Those residents are
asked to take this opportunity to update their family’s emergency plan and supplies prior to the drill.
On the day of the Drill, May 4th, they will receive a telephone notification call at or shortly after 9:00 AM
and are asked to practice an evacuation, preferably by foot or bicycle, just as they would do if
a wildland fire was approaching. Residents on Panoramic are requested to report to: Throckmorton Ridge
Fire Station and residents along Molino Avenue and Edgewood Avenue are asked to report to: Old Mill School at 352 Throckmorton Avenue.
Community partners, including Red Cross, Whistlestop Wheels , Marin Humane Society and the Marin Medical Reserve
Corp will be available to talk with residents at Old Mill about their response plans in the event of an
Evacuation in Mill Valley.
Residents will be asked to fill out a brief survey about emergency preparedness and will receive a
FREE USB Emergency Thumb Drive, full of useful checklists and information to prepare your home and family for an emgency.
