The Friends of the Mill Valley Public Library have held books sales for more than two decades. Sale proceeds are donated to the Library to enhance the collection, to cover the cost of Library programs and equipment such as hands-on computer classes, and other special needs.
In order to make our sales profitable for the library, the Friends rely on generous donations from the community. We welcome most categories of books in good condition - including encyclopedias, textbooks, business and computer books (less than five-years old.)
Other acceptable items are books and music on CDs, and DVDs. No magazines, tape driven products of any kind, or record albums - please recycle such items.
Books wear out. They suffer water damage. They break down. Please do not use the library as a place for discards and recycling. Dispose of dirty, mildewed, yellowed, underlined and torn books yourself. This includes activity and puzzle books with writing, and text books with highlighting. Also, out-of-date books such as travel guides, and reference will not sell.
Please bring your donations into the Library during open hours
, or directly to the Friends book sale area (lower level side entrance) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am to noon.
ASK for a PICK-UP
If you are unable to bring books to one of these locations, please call (415) 389-4292 x4732 to arrange for pick-up.
All donations are tax deductible and the Friends will be happy to provide you with a receipt and a big "thank you!" Volunteer
to work a Friends Book Sale.
