Artist Statement

My exhibit is a collection of 15 painted realistic drawings I made from found Mill Valley leaves I created over the past month. They were done with a graphite pencil and colored with gouache. Each one took about five hours to draw and one hour to paint. The drawings were made the size as the actual leaves, with me skillfully duplicating each one’s different details and colors.

My art education consists of a Master of Fine Arts in Art from Syracuse University, NY and a Master and Bachelor of Arts in Art from The University of Albany, NY. Over the past 35 years I have been a tenured Professor of Art at different universities and colleges. Over those years my art has been exhibited in more than 30 one woman shows and 40 group shows across the country.

My lifetime dream has always been to have my own art school and I am happy to say my dream has come true. A few months ago I opened THE MILL VALLEY DRAWING ROOM - SCHOOL OF ART, 22 Miller Avenue, Studio L, located above D’Angelo. I offer private and group lessons in all mediums, techniques and levels of Drawing and Design.

If you are interested in having me teach you realism Drawing in my beautiful studio or in your home, please email me at THEMVDRAWINGROOM@GMAIL.COM

The Library is an enthusiastic participant in the Mill Valley Arts Commission’s First Tuesday Art Walk.
