Here is the latest news on the East Blithedale road construction project:
What has been done: Sewer construction crews have installed approximately 2,500 feet of the sewer main and 14 new sewer manholes on East Blithedale Avenue. The sewer crews have also connected approximately 40 sewer services from the properties to the new sewer line in the street. The PG&E gas line relocation work between Elm Avenue and Mesa Avenue has been completed.
What is in progress: The sewer line replacement construction on East Blithedale Avenue continues with the two sewer construction crews connecting the existing sewer services from the properties to the new sewer line in the street. Both sewer construction crews will be working on the sewer service connections between Mesa Avenue and Alta Vista Avenue. Lane closures of 200’-300’ at each location should be expected. Concrete and asphalt paving crews continue to work on East Blithedale Avenue repairing trench line areas that were broken out for the installation of the sewer main or sewer services.
What to expect in the next few weeks: The sewer construction crews will finish connecting the existing house sewer laterals to the new sewer main. The concrete repairs to the sidewalks and driveways damaged by the construction will continue and will finish after all sewer lateral connections have been made. The week of August 19th, the asphalt paving crew will finish patching the street and starting on August 21st, the pavement resurfacing of East Blithedale Avenue will begin. Crewmembers will place the traffic stripes on East Blithedale Avenue during the week of September 2nd.
The City recommends that motorists:
Add time to your trip and plan ahead.
