The Friends of the Mill Valley Library presents Monday Night at the Movies. This month the Friends will present three films featuring actress Judy Garland.

Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)
Set at the time of the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904, a family of four beautiful sisters learn lessons of life and love. Based on stories about the family by the youngest of the real daughters (played by Margaret O'Brien in the film). Garland debuts the standards "The Trolley Song", "The Boy Next Door" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", all of which became hits after the film was released. The film was nominated for Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Original Music and Best Musical Scoring. O'Brien won the Juvenile Oscar for Best Child Actress. Directed by Vincent Minelli who met Garland on the set and married her the following year.
