Paintings and Works on Paper
This month the library will be featuring Paintings and Works on Paper by Bruce Fletcher. Bruce’s works are colorful and geometric. Several works utilize circles from carefully selected paper sleeves from 45 rpm records inspired by researching Jamaican music over the last decade. A majority of these works incorporate the sleeves, text, or label art that was appropriated from the records themselves, manifesting their own inherent history of the Jamaican music. The library will be hosting a reception on Tuesday, August 3rd from 6 to 8 pm in the lower level gallery.
