Every 3rd Saturday of the month visit the Friends Book Store located at the side entrance/lower level of the Library for thousands of quality used books for sale.

Fresh donations continue to roll into the Friends bookstore, so even if you went to last month's sale, you're bound to find new titles in your favorite sections. The shelves are constantly restocked by our volunteers so there will be plenty to browse (and buy!) whenever you arrive. All of our sections are well stocked, but here's a sampler from three of our collections:
Parenting
From pregnancy and baby naming to toddlerhood and sleep issues to Tweens, teens, sports and college applications - the Parenting section of the Mill Valley Book Store has you covered.
Sports

We have a wide variety of books on running, from how to improve, to tales of epic runners, to new ideas:

The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer

Running With The Kenyans

50/50 - Dean Karnazes

Eat & Run - Scott Jurek

Born To Run

Barefoot Running

Chi Running
Young Adult
Have your teen join you for this month's sale and have them pick out one or more titles at incredible savings. Whether their favorite genre is fantasy, romance, mystery, or adventure, we've got it!
More Bargains Await -- Every Day!

There is no need to wait for the third Saturday of each month to find a book or two for yourself or a friend. The Friends have a new book cart in the main level of the library - near the reference desk and across from the circulation desk. It features specially selected book of premium quality, including best sellers and unique gift suggestions. You now have two locations in the library to find a quality book at an exceptional value - this book cart and the shelves on the lower level at the entrance to the fiction room.

The Friends of the Mill Valley Public Library have held books sales for nearly two decades. Sale proceeds are donated to the Library to enhance the collection, to cover the cost of Library programs and equipment such as hands-on computer classes, and other special needs.

In order to make their sales profitable, the Friends rely on generous donations from the community. They welcome donations of most categories of books in good condition (please, none that are dirty, mildewed, dog-eared, or underlined). Other items that sell well are video tapes, books on tape, CDs, and DVDs.

The Friends do not accept encyclopedias, textbooks, business or computer books more than five years old. No magazines or record albums; Please recycle such items.

You may bring your donations into the Library during open hours, or directly to the Friends book sale area (lower level side entrance) on Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 am to noon.

You may also drop off small donations at the Friends green collection bin inside California Savings at 70 Throckmorton Avenue, Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Fridays until 6:00 pm. If you are unable to bring books to one of these locations, please call Jim Derich 415-388-8310 to arrange a pick up.

All donations are tax deductible and the Friends will be happy to provide you with a receipt and a big "thank you!"
