Mill Valley Library First Friday Program: Zen Mind Meets Wildfire.
Colleen Morton Busch, author of the book Fire Monks, will discuss how residents of the Tassajara Zen Mountain Monastery near Big Sur saved their monastery from wildfire devastation during the massive 2008 Basin Complex Fire.
The Emergency Preparedness Commission and Fire Department are partnering with the Library to present this speaker. Fire Chief Jeff Davidson and Chair Ron Vidal will join Busch for a Q&A following the author’s talk.
Materials related to an item on this agenda submitted to the Emergency Preparedness Commission after distribution of the agenda are available for public inspection at Mill Valley Fire Station 7, 1 Hamilton Drive during regular business hours.
